Worship & Preaching

Worship is giving all that we have and are to God. The hymnist Horatius Bonar (1808-89) helps us to sing in prayer:

“Fill Thou my life, O Lord my God, in every part with praise,

that my whole being may proclaim Thy being and Thy ways.
So shall no part of day or night be free from holiness;
but all my life in every step, be communion with Thee.”

However, there is also a time and place for individuals to come together to worship as a body. This is what we call corporate or communal worship. A modern hymn writer, Barbara Young (1970-2012) of Belize wrote:

“We gather in thy name, O Lord
In gratitude we come,
To lift up our song, to sing thy praise,
Jesus we celebrate!”

When we come together for corporate worship, we do not merely share in prayer and praise. We receive God’s word.

Our corporate worship is Word-centered. We accept the Biblical message as written in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”

Therefore, preaching and teaching the Biblical message is an essential part of our corporate worship. With the Holy Spirit’s influence, who brings to life the praise we seek and guides the prayer we open ourselves to share with the God we worship.

So on this page called Worship & Preaching, you can expect to find praise, prayer, preaching, and everything that makes our worship life together in God.

Welcome aboard!
